Dear Colleagues,

The first College of Arts and Sciences Faculty meeting of the new academic year will be held on Wednesday, September 20, at 4:00 pm in the Alumni House.

Our agenda is as follows:

1. Review and approval of the minutes of our meeting of April 27, 2006 (attached)

2. Election of Chair and Secretary of the College faculty for 2006-2007

3. Introductions of New Faculty (handout, Chair will introduce)

4. Remarks by Dean Snyder

5. Schedule of CAS Meetings for 2006-2007

6. New Business

We will adjourn by 5:30 to a reception in honor of our new faculty. Food, wine, etc. will be served compliments of the Dean.

IMPORTANT REQUEST OF DEPARTMENT CHAIRS:

If you have new faculty members, please send me the name(s), along with a 3-sentence bio that includes the institution of terminal degree, research interests, and teaching areas. The information will be compiled as a handout for the CAS faculty, and the Chair will briefly introduce each new faculty member by name only. New faculty will have been introduced more fully at the general faculty meeting the previous week.

Please mark your calendars and remind your colleagues to come to this meeting. We look forward to seeing you on September 20.
