Requirements for a Minor in Classical
Studies:
Any five courses in:
Classical Studies (CL)
Greek (GR) and/or
Latin (LA)
approved courses in ancient history
(HI)
approved courses in ancient art (AH)
approved courses in philosophy (PH)
These are minimum requirements; additional courses may be
taken.
Use your core courses for a Minor in Classical Studies:
- CL 115 (Greek Civilization), CL 116
(Roman Civilization), and courses in ancient history offered by Classical
Studies or the History department may be used to fulfill the core requirement
in History.
- CL/EN 103 (Masterpieces of Greek Literature
in Translation), CL/EN 104 (Masterpieces of Roman Literature in Translation),
CL/EN 108 (Myth in Classical Literature), CL/EN 109 (Greek Tragedy in
Translation) and CL/EN 127 (Romantic Love in the Literature of Greece and Rome)
may be used to fulfill the core requirement in Literature.
- Latin and Greek courses may be taken
to fulfill the core requirement in Foreign Language.
- Approved courses may be taken to
fulfill core requirements in Visual and Performing Arts and in Philosophy.
