FACEBOOK: Alpha Mu Gamma - Eta Pi Chapter (Fairfield U.)

Alpha Mu Gamma is the national collegiate foreign language honor society of the United States, founded in 1931.  More than 350 charters have been granted to chapters in the United States and Puerto Rico.  Chapters are found both in state and private universities and in public and private colleges.

Alpha Mu Gamma has as its primary purpose the honoring of students for outstanding achievement during their foreign-language study in college. Upon initiation a member receives a parchment certificate of membership, and may wear the scroll-shaped pin and gold cord at the commencement exercises.

Students earned two grades of A or A- in the study of a language at the college level, and who have also maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher, are eligible to apply for admission. Sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible. Freshman, who have placed out of the language requirement, but complete an upper division course in the language in the fall semester, may apply. Students may apply for membership in more than one language.
