Quiz 5 will be given during the first 15 minutes of class on Wednesday, December 10.
The quiz will focus on the Mean Value Theorem, Taylor's Theorem and the definition of the definite integral. The quiz will be one or two questions resembling problems that you either saw in class or completed for Problem Set 5. You will be asked to write a short proof.
Quiz 4 will be given during the first 15 minutes of class on Wednesday, November 19.
The quiz will focus on the main continuity theorems (the Intermediate Value Theorem and the Extreme Value Theorem), and the definitions of uniform continuity and of the derivative. The quiz will be one or two questions resembling problems that you either saw in class or completed for Problem Set 4. You will be asked to write a short proof.
Quiz 3 will be given during the first 15 minutes of class on Wednesday, November 5.
The quiz will focus on the epsilon-delta definition of limit and on continuity. The quiz will be one or two questions resembling problems that you either saw in class or completed for Problem Set 3. You will be asked to write a short proof.
Quiz 2 will be given during the first 15 minutes of class on Wednesday, October 15.
The quiz will focus on the following definitions: convergent sequence, monotone sequence, Cauchy sequence; important theorems include the monotone convergence theorem and the Bolzano-Weierstrass theorem. You will be asked to write a short proof resembling an example we did in class or that was assigned in Problem Set 2.
Quiz 1 will be given during the first 15 minutes of class on Wednesday, October 1.
The quiz will focus on the supremum/infimum property of R. Know the definition of supremum/infimum, as well as the statement of the Completeness Axiom. The quiz will be one or two questions resembling problems that you saw in class or completed for Problem Set 1. You will be asked to write a proof.
