Fr. Charlie Allen was born in Boston, Massachusetts two months after the start of the Second World War. his parents, grandparents and great grandparents were all from Boston.
Wanting to see the world he joined the Jesuits, a Catholic religious order of priests and brothers, at the age of seventeen. Having lived in Mexico, Italy, France, Spain, England, Ireland, Hong Kong and The Philippines, he finally decided that Fairfield County, Connecticut was the closest he would ever come to the Garden of Eden and he has spent 29 of the past 37 years here.
He has a bachelor's degree and master's degree in philosophy from Boston College, a master's degree in math from Brown University, a master's degree in educational administration from Columbia University, and a master's degree in theology from the Gregorian University in Rome.
He has taught at Fairfield Prep, been the headmaster there and is presently the special assistant to the president of Fairfield University, university chaplain and Catholic chaplain to the Town of Fairfield Emergency Services.
