EN372: All About Eve
Spring Semester 2011
Final Essay Assignment
The critical research paper is due by noon on Thursday, May 12. The essay should be approximately 10-12 pages in length, and should apply at least three critical secondary sources to the argument, in addition to whatever primary sources you analyze. Please note that the secondary critical sources should be scholarly or academic sources, rather than popular or reference sources.
In this essay you may analyze any representation of Eve, in any medium, from any period. You may expand one of your previous essays, or you may analyze one of the later versions of the Eve story from the syllabus, or you may investigate the topic of your oral presentation. My only requirement is that you focus on a representation of the biblical character of Eve (as opposed to a woman who might in some ways resemble Eve, or a character who is compared to Eve, or some depiction of womanhood or femininity in general.)
Please follow the MLA Style of citation and documentation of sources, and be sure to fully cite your sources. Ideally, you should have an original thesis, distinct from those of your sources, and use your sources to advance your own argument.
