Note: The Perses to whom the poem is addressed is the poet's brother.

a. In five to ten words, what is this poem about?

b. Compare and contrast the Works and Days with the Iliad.  How is it different?  How is it the same?

c. Compare and contrast the Works and Days with the Odyssey.  How is it different?  How is it the same?

d. What's the most important thing in life according to the Works and Days?  What was the most important thing in the poems of Homer?

e. How realistic is this poem?  What do you mean by "realistic"?

f.  What does this poem tell us about Hesiod?  How reliable is that information?
