CL 121/EN221 Myth in Classical Literature

 

Instructions for final paper:

 

1. read four more Greek tragedies of your own choosing, or the equivalent amount of another Greek or Latin text which uses mythology.

 

2. e-mail me your choice of readings for approval.  all readings must be approved in advance.

 

3. write a paper, four to five pages in length, on the different ways mythology is used in the texts you have read.

 

4. send your paper as a Word document attached to an e-mail addressed to rosivach@mail.fairfield.edu.

 

5. due date for the paper is 1:30 pm on Wednesday, May 4, but you may send it to my at any time before that.

 

 

The fine print:

 

a. include the following statement in your paper (papers without this statement will be returned as incomplete):

 

any ideas or language which I have gotten from another source have been indicated with appropriate bibligraphical citations.  any ideas or language not so indicated are my own.

 

b. it is your responsibility to get your paper to me on time and virus-free.  receipt of all papers will be acknowledged within twelve hours; if you do not hear back from me within twelve hours send your paper again.

 

c. keep an extra copy of your paper as a back-up, in case the original gets lost or garbled in transmission.

 

d. put your e-mail address on the top of your paper.  graded papers will be returned at the end of the final exam period.
