By the end of the semester you should have read Plautus’ Menaechmi, Miles Gloriosus and the remainder of the Curculio in English translation. Based on your reading of these plays write a paper, three to five pages in length, typewritten double space, listing all the ways Plautine comedy is different from Terentian comedy.

In your paper cite one or more illustrations for each difference you mention. Refer to your illustrations using brief summaries (do not quote Plautus at length). Choose illustrations that you feel best illustrate the point you are making. Individual illustrations may be drawn from any of the plays read for this paper, but by the end of the paper each play should have provided you with at least one illustration.
