Wednesday, October 14, 2015 - Invited guest lecturer, Melissa Kenney, Ph.D. Research Assistant Professor, Environmental Decision Science and Indicators at the University of Maryland, Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC) and Cooperative Institute for Climate and Satellites - Maryland (CICS-MD) presented her talk, The university community is invited and encouraged to attend her talk titled, "Is stream restoration worth it?" Wednesday, November 18, 2015 - The Faculty Research talk featured Paul Baginski, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Mathematics.



Monday, February 1, 2016 - Sigma Xi Distinguished lecturer, Lee Dugatkin, Ph.D., Professor of Biology at University of Louisville. Dr. Dugatkin's main areas of research interest are the evolution of social behavior, and the history of science. His talk titled, "Evolution of Social Behavior," was well attended by members and students.


Monday, February 22, 2016 - Lecture Seminar - Michael Dennin, Ph.D., Physicist, UC Irvine will present his talk, "Is shaving cream a solid or liquid or how does foam fall apart." (Yes, this is Joe Dennin's of the Math Department son). Click here for the full abstract of this interesting topic.



Wednesday, April 20, 2016- 16th Annual Student Poster Session was held in conjunction with the Undergraduate Research Symposium. The Sigma Xi session was held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Barone Campus Center Oakroom and featured 80 projects involving 120 students in scientific research. View event booklet. This years Sigma Xi Reception and Induction Ceremony was held on May 16, 2016 in the Alumni House Brennan Room. Thirteen students and two faculty members were officially inducted into our chapter.
