Guide to Group Statistics Projects
- Project Planner -- You
download a copy of this. In the white cells fill out a name for
your group, your names, the two variables you want to study the
relationship of, whether they are categorical with two values,
categorical with multiple values or numerical, and the population
you want to consider (if you are not
sure what you want to do for your project or are not sure how to
fill it in, come and talk to me). Then email it to me, with further
explanation if your project requires it. I will email
it back to you with
comments and suggesting changes to make it more tractible or
appropriate. We keep emailing back until all of us are satisfied
with what it says. When I grad your projects at the end of the
semester I will fill out the blue cells on the right to compute your grade.
- Project Rubric --
Guidelines for the project, structure for how it should be organizex
and rubric for the grading. Notice depending on the statistical
procedure you use the total may be less than 100 points, so if you
want it to add up to 100 points you will need to do additional work,
such as a larger sample, a small literature review, steps to check
for sampling bias etc. I occasionally get projects which earn more
than 100 points.
- Sample Report from a Group
Project -- I wrote this to show you the sort of thing I was
looking for. The data is entirely made up.
- Guidelines for Group Project -- I hope this maikes everything clear!
