How to join the
Faculty Welfare Committee/AAUP
The
Faculty Welfare Committee/AAUP at Fairfield
University is an ad hoc committee of the
General Faculty and a chapter of the national
AAUP. We promote the
professional and economic interests, broadly
defined, of the Fairfield University faculty.
Any faculty member at Fairfield may
join the chapter by contacting any member of the
Executive Committee. Dues are set annually by
the membership and, for full-time faculty, are
deducted from each paycheck through payroll
deduction. If you aren't a member, please
consider joining. All our activities are
open to all members of the faculty, but
everything is funded entirely by our
dues-paying members.
By joining the FWC/AAUP, you are also joining
national AAUP and the CT State Conference-AAUP.
Most of the dues you pay to Fairfield are paid
to national AAUP on your behalf, a very small
amount goes to the CT State Conference, and the
remaining small amount stays in the chapter for
our local activities.
To join the FWC/AAUP, download the Authorization Agreement
for Dues Deduction for FWC/AAUP dues, fill
out your name and Employee ID number (found on
your Stagcard) and send the signed form
(electronically or in hard copy) to the FWC/AAUP
