The purpose of the Student Life Committee is "to study and make recommendations concerning nonacademic aspects of student life: extracurricular activities, student health and welfare services, food services, dormitories, undergraduate conduct and life style. The Committee will normally carry out its duties through the University Council but will also report to the Academic Council and the General Faculty as appropriate," and will elect "one member to attend and participate in meetings of the Student Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees . . . per the standing invitation of the Board"  Fairfield University Faculty Handbook, Eleventh Edition (2013), p. 13 .
